Profile

Senator ScarnatiSenator Joe Scarnati is currently serving his second term representing the residents of the 25th District, which include all or parts of Warren, McKean, Potter, Tioga, Cameron, Elk, Clearfield and Jefferson Counties.

On January 2, 2007, Joe was sworn in as President Pro Tempore of the Pennsylvania Senate; the third highest constitutional office in the State.  Since being sworn in, he has been a leader in reforming the way business is conducted in the Senate and remains committed to making the institution more open and accessible to the citizens of the Commonwealth.

He is also taking on many important issues such as reducing job crushing taxes, eliminating benefits to illegal aliens, and overall cutting the cost of government in Pennsylvania.

Joe is a native of Brockway in Jefferson County and a lifelong resident of the 25th District.  After graduating from Penn State University at DuBois, Joe became a third generation business owner in the Brockway area.  He also carried on the lifelong tradition of working to better his community through involvement and civic leadership, serving on both the Brockway Borough Council and the Jefferson County Development Council.

Joe enjoys spending time with his three children Lisa, Kelly, and Michael.
