Jones Township Community Park Receives State Grant for Site Improvements

The Community Park in Jones Township, Elk County, will be receiving a state grant of $25,860 to install a walking path, fishing piers and complete related site improvements, according to Senator Joe Scarnati (R-25).

The funding comes from a County Environmental Initiative grant issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) through its Community Conservation Partnership Program.

“The Community Park is a great place for families and friends to spend quality time together,” said Scarnati.  “The fishing piers and walking path being added will enhance the park’s beauty and offer even more recreational activities for the people who enjoy the outdoors.”

The Community Conservation Partnerships Program is administered by DCNR’s Bureau of Recreation and Conservation to provide financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts, and other nonprofits for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenways projects.
